Lisa Hoke

Lisa Hoke's installation The Gravity of Color, New Britain, 2008, on the LeWitt Family Staircase landing is a 30-foot-high wall installation made up out of 20,000 colored paper and plastic cups I think it's very interest and it makes me think more about colors. :)

Abstract

this is my abstract expressionist artwork. i took two of andy warhol's pieces of artwork and then warped them and then i used a variety of brush tools.

Midterm

This is my midterm project and I used elements of the earth i guess. In the top left corner i have a water element and then in the top right corner i have fire and in the bottom left corner i have trees and nature and then finally in the bottom right corner i have the air. In between all of the elements I have Peace Love & Happiness. This project was based mainly around the world and things that I really enjoy/need.

Corinne's Silhouette

For this assignment we were supposed to use the negative space around an object instead of the positive space to create a shape rather then a detailed object. So I took a picture of myself and put it into a cooler background. I then filled my silhouette with things related to me. I put song lyrics to Lady Gaga's song "Born This Way."

Crazy Combos: Frosturflyittyoxle

For this project we had to have 8 layers and make an animal/creature out of multiple objects in a category. First, I picked out the animals I wanted to use and what part of them would be best. I think my creature looks like it's jumping into flight. When it flies, its legs go into the shell. It could also be like a big bird running. I don't think i'd change anything.

15 Green Things

For this assignment we had 15 pictures of a similar shade of green and it was our job to turn it into something new.  What I did first was decide on a background. I figured that the arrow would be easy to cutout and place things in. So that's what I did. I didn't really have an inspiration for this piece of work.... it just kinda came to me. I think if I were to change anything it would be trying to make it be another object out of the pictures. The wheelchair people are my favorite I think. :)

Music

This assignment was to take a psd file of five layers and turn it into our own. I decided to have the tie dye background and i made the people colors that popped out where I placed them. I didn't really have an inspiration for this, it just kinda came to me. I made the notes get smaller and lighter as they "floated" down the picture.

Japan At Night

I took this picture and desaturated and then used the history brush.

Nature Walk

This picture I used diffuse glow and glass. I liked the perspective from the original photo but i made it seem more dream-like to me.
